Foreign Students Face Increasing Visa Challenges in Poland

Due to tighter controls introduced by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs following a visa scandal, foreign students are finding it harder to obtain student visas. This year has seen a significant drop in visa approvals, with only around 8,200 visas granted out of 13,207 applications, while 5,000 were denied. The most affected students are from countries like Pakistan, Yemen, and Bangladesh. These changes, impacting primarily private universities, could have economic repercussions on higher education institutions.
